The problem with the Easy Fill Capless Fuel Filler is that dirt builds up against the fuel filler door. Then, every time you get fuel, the dirt falls into your fuel tank. The dirt contaminates your fuel and fills your fuel filter with dirt. As the dirt builds around the fuel filler door, it stops the fuel filler door from sealing completely. If it doesn’t seal completely, you will fail your emissions test for smog.
I put a rubber cap over my Easy Fill that fits pretty tight. It seals out any dirt and keeps everything perfectly clean. It keeps my fuel filter clean, keeps the fuel filler door seal clean and keeps the fuel filler door working perfectly. The rubber cap I use is the bottom of a screw and bolt holder from Home Depot. It works perfectly.
Everyone I told about it, has tried it and it works. It works for trucks, SUVs and vans with the Easy Fill Capless Fuel Filler. The Easy Fill Capless design is very bad for dirt, especially off road. Try it.
